Javier // Part 1: Great Falls, VA

Everybody, this is Javier. He is probably one of my most favorite people in the universe. And if you met him, he would probably be one of your most favorite people in the universe also. Javi & I go way back. We were both advertising majors at the University of Florida and found ourselves in many of the same classes. Let's just say we bonded over our mutual classroom struggles and the many entertaining moments that come in a classroom setting. Needless to say, we've been friends since and I'm so thankful he's also here in DC!

Javi and I have been scheming over a "fall" photoshoot for awhile - we both love fall style (is there anything better than boots, sweaters & plaid?) but we also wanted to capture the beauty of the DC fall season, so I was so happy when this shoot actually came to fruition. Javi came to the shoot so prepared & ready - multiple outfits & all! We spent the morning at Great Falls doing our "Virginia Lumberjack" shots and spent the afternoon in Georgetown doing our "DC Prep" shots. So without further adieu, I'd like to introduce Part 1 of my three part Javier series: Great Falls!

^ This is Kati, my cousin aka my photoshoot assistant for the day. We both love Javi a lot if you can't tell.

Interested in a photoshoot? Shoot me an email!

A September Morning at Foxstone Creek

This is my cousin Bridget. I think we can all agree she should be a model. I'd like to extend a BIG thank you to her for her help with this shoot. Thank you Bridget! ...or should I say Brigitte, future model superstar!

Sneak Peek: Foxstone Creek

Bridget and I woke up early this morning and headed to one of my favorite Vienna spots - Foxstone Creek. We spent many summer afternoons here...riding our bikes on the path, frolicking in the creek & catching tadpoles, playing hide & seek among the trees. There are so many great memories. This morning was absolutely perfect, and I can't wait to share the rest of the photos. Soon, friends, soon!

Here's Bridget giving us a sneak PEEK - get it? get it?!

The "Soul-Soothing" Great Falls

Yesterday, we ventured to Great Falls. Talk about scenic, huh?
We did a bit of hiking, a lot of "overlooking" and believe it or not, some haikuing.
You would never know it, but nature brings out your inner poet!
Ok ok, I'm done with the bad jokes.

It was a perfect summer day, and the waters were raging.
We even saw some daredevil kayakers attempting to resist the current via paddle & probably some serious core strength. It was pretty cool, and I decided that someday I'd like to attempt that.

Do you want to hear our haiku?

Hiking the hot trails
Great Falls soothing our three souls
Having fun - so there.

(one thing you should know - we wrote this in response to a haiku my mom had sent us about her having fun down in Palm Beach, FL with my Dad, and yes, we were jealous)

And then my mom comes up with one in response that blows ours out of the water:

Oh falling water
laced with white, why oh why do
you delight - breathless!

...so she may have better natural poetic ability than us. Whatever.
